Bergwaters Eco Lodge is a family run business acquired by Ernie, Chantel and Ivan in September 2007. The family's mission is to provide affordable family fun to guests in a hospitable environment. Our goal is to ensure you feel relaxed and enjoy your stay in the Mpumalanga Highlands. Our family "truly hope that during your stay we'll have the opportunity to become good friends."

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
One of the projects that we are particularly proud of took place in June 2008 when Bergwaters was invited to participate in an owl rehabilitation project. The exercise involved releasing 5 Barn Owls, reared in captivity at the Dullstroom Bird Of Prey and Rehabilitation Centre, into the wild. The birds were fed for 10 days in an enclosure which was then opened, allowing them free movement. We then continued feeding the owls, gradually reducing the quantity of food, until ultimately the birds were independent and able to hunt for themselves.
