The Shamrock Arms Guest Lodge

The Shamrock Arms is an authentically Victorian guest lodge dating back to 1894, which has been lovingly restored and comfortably furnished. 

It is superbly situated on the Mpumalanga Highlands Meander Route – just two and a half hours from Johannesburg and two hours from the Kruger National Park, making it an ideal stopover for both the business and leisure traveller. It's particularly convenient for travellers arriving at OR Tambo International Airport who are keen on getting some ‘mileage’ behind them on their first day so that the drive to the Kruger National Park or other places of interest in the area the following day is not so daunting.

The Shamrock Arms Guest lodge is also the perfect base from which to explore many places of interest and scenic beauty that are close by. Allow Terry, your host, who is a registered Tourist Guide, to tailor-make a tour package for you or alternatively seek his guidance about what you can do and see in the area.

Accommodation at the Shamrock Arms consists of double rooms, beautifully furnished, with ‘Royal' King or Queen size beds or twin beds and with an en-suite bath or shower. 

Enjoy the personal attention and responsive service that you will receive from your hosts Terry and Cheryl. Share a drink and meet new friends in the cosy welcoming Irish style pub or just enjoy the relaxed ambience of the late-Victorian verandah and soak in the beauty of the mountains that surround you.

Although 6 of the 7 rooms in the Guest Lodge have their own mini bar, there is also an intimate pub in the main building which is there mainly for the benefit of residents and their friends. Non residents are however also welcome.

Guests cancelling their booking 14 days or less before their arrival date forfeit their deposit.

Smoking is not allowed in the pub or restaurant. It is, however, permitted on the patio.
