Tranquilitas Adventure Farm

Accommodation consists of four self-catering chalets, complete with everything one needs to cater for oneself. You just have to bring your own food and towels. For those who are keen on camping, there is ample tent space as well as a neat ablution block consisting of toilets, hot showers and washing up basins. If you are slightly less adventurous, Tranquilitas has recently introduced permanent canvas tent facilities with individual electrical power points. In addition, Tranquilitas has a large conference hall, ideal for the celebration of special occasions as well as a refreshing out-door swimming pool for those hot highlands days. 

Due to its location, Tranquilitas is ideally suited for the outdoor / adventure enthusiasts. For rock climbers there are climbing cliffs only 400 m away, and for the mountain bike enthusiasts paths of various lengths and difficulty begin and end at the Tranquilitas. Hikers can explore some of the trails in the vicinity, and for bird watchers there are many ideal spots from which to train those binoculars.  

Tranquilitas has recently undergone extensive upgrading in order to provide its adventure seeking guests with even more value for their money. A dam has been re-created in an effort to attract bird life to the area, and many foreign plants and trees have been recycled into building material. An alternative road to the farm has been built in order to by-pass sections of the dirt road that tend to become mud pools following summer rains.

As far as sporting facilities are concerned, hundreds of fully bolted climbing routes are within walking distance, and a multitude of mountain bike trails begin and end at the camp site. For the less experienced mountain bikers, and those wishing to hone their skills, we have recently completed an obstacle course on our property which will enable you to practice various manouvers in a controlled environment.  For hikers and birdwatchers there are various trails traversing the escarpment and near- by cliffs. 

An inviting outdoor pool is available to all guests.  Climbers will be thrilled by the unique artificial bouldering wall above the pool which allows them to practice their deep water soloing skills.    

- Guests are welcome to check out anytime until 19:30-20:00.

- Children are welcome but pay full adult rates.

- A 48 hour cancellation period is required or guests forfeit their deposits.

- On weekends, a minimum chalet booking policy of 2 nights applies.
