Mrs Simpson

Mrs Simpson offers a wide array of both traditional and contemporary dishes at reasonable prices.  They were listed as one of the top 100 restaurants in 'Dine 2008' so booking is always advisable.  On Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, the restaurant closes at 15:00 and re-opens at 18:00-20:00.  Trading hours on Sundays are 11:30-15:00.  Tuesdays and Wednesdays are rest days.

The Tickled Trout

The Tickled Trout Restaurant and Pub in Waterval Onder is found in the original "Staging Poste Shoppe" dating from 1850.

Guests quickly become friends as they enjoy delicious home cooked cuisine and freshly home baked desserts in the hisorically quaint restaurant, or a relaxed drink in the pub. The stunning  tea garden offers a majestic view of the sourrounding mountains. 

Breakfasts are served all day, and the restaurant serves delicious teas, lunches and dinners, though guests are advised to make reservations for dinners after 7pm to ensure a table.

Visit the Old Cabin Restaurant in Machadodorp - open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner or enjoy the Old Cabin's delicious buffet, which is served every Sunday.  The Old Cabin is famous for its home baked goodies, and has a deli that caters for all tastes.

Stone Circle Bistro

Situated on the Elands River in the picturesque town of Waterval Boven, the Stone Circle Bistro is the perfect setting for a cooked breakfast, a tasty hamburger or pizza (the boerewors and Mpumalanga Rocket pizzas are not to be missed), a delicious three course meal (prepared by Sean Ward, the Bistro's 5 star chef) or coffee and cake.

The beautiful serene gardens of the Stone Circle Bistro are the perfect setting to enjoy a cup of tea and home baked goodies, or sundowners (there is a fully licensed bar on site, with pool table).  

Guests can browse the well stocked second hand bookshop for bargain buys or visit the Stone Ruin Museum to learn more about the fascinating history of the area.
